Crazy Babe

Crazy Babe has a pretty unconventional splash page. It might remind one of a goth punk band's CD cover, actually, with its artsy lighting and theatrically made-up model (a blonde chick called "Mayhem"). There's a button for "guests" that will take casual surfers to a predominantly black tour page and an impressive list of all the latest "crazy babes"; impressive on both the content and model quality aspects, mind. It looks strictly tit-for-tat at one glance of the more than 200 photo sets. Of course I'm being tongue-in-cheek: there are plenty of bared tits and more tats than in a Harley-Davidson meet on what looks to be most of the goth girl population.

This online version of the much-raved-about Bob Coulter photography book has an almost can't-be-bothered indexing scheme on the main page. There are 3 main categories: "info", "links", and "whatever"; and some of the sub-categories can be somewhat vague, as with "Magic Trick", "Church of Bob". Crazy Babe, however, prides itself in piss-elegant softcore photo shoots, and rightfully so. It devotes a lot of attention and detail to each model, with some even having HDVs on WMV and iPod formats. And once you click on any of the model thumbs, that's where Bob Coulter unleashes his wild creativity. Each model's "threshold" photo has strategically-placed links for all her pictures and cover page, as well as to go back to the main Crazy Babe index. Each one also tells a surreal, Clockwork Orange-type of story in exquisite and almost painstaking detail.

Babes with stage names like Delilah, Dharma, and Gizel represent the darker, more shadowy and pseudo-BDSM goth tendencies with their respective pictures. Nevertheless, there are some crazy babes in the roster that were photographed in sunnier, albeit still surreal, environs. Blonde-and-blue eyed Jackie is one of them, and her photo set in particular reminded me of an Alice in Wonderland picnic except with a hamperful of pret a porter instead of bread and butter and tea. Suffice to say that with over 200 photo galleries plus some accompanying videos, this is a great treasure trove of Gothic and surreal eye-candy.
