There are two ways of viewing movies inside X on demand: video rentals and pay-per-minute. Video rentals lets you download and keep the videos in your computer for a limited time. I have chosen to view the movies on a pay-per-minute basis and I base my review on this viewing option.

I am a heavy user of porn sites. I have a fast Internet connection, which I use download a lot of videos. I could go through half a medium-sized movie archive in half a day. XonDemand rates are between $3.49 per 15 minutes to $79.99 for 1,000 minutes. Average monthly fee for a porn site is around $25. At XonDemand $24.99 would buy you 250 minutes of viewing time. This is four hours of videos, which I must say is highway robbery. I could download four hours worth of videos in less than an hour in other sites. If I only spend an hour a day downloading a video for 30 days in a non-pay-per-view site, I'd have 120 hours worth of porn videos for the same price as four hours of videos inside XonDemand. One hundred twenty hour is 7,200 minutes. For this amount of time, X on Demand members will have to spend about $500.

X on Demand has a lot of good points. The movie is streamed on an external application, not on an embedded player. The streaming is deliciously smooth. You have absolutely no problems with streaming a movie. You can switch from one movie to another seamlessly. You CANNOT view more than one movie simultaneously. Should you switch to another video, the player (WM or Real Player) will automatically play the new video.

I m not sure how many DVD titles XonDemand has available, but in the few days I have browsed the site, every niche seems to be represented. There are even foreign-language titles. It's safe to say, you would sooner drain your bank account than XonDemand would run out of titles. For members worried about spending maxing out their credit cards, the site has a safety precaution limiting monthly purcahses to four or up to $100.
